Spotted Flycatcher nest box

The nest box is partially open from three sides.

Frame is 21 mm conifer plywood and roof is 9 mm film plywood. Front wall height 15 cm.

The nest box has appropriate equipment for fastening.

Fastening instruction

The nest box should be fastened to over two metres height and to a calm place, where no one usually walks by. Avoid staring at the nest often, because the female gets nervous easily and leaves the nest. Don’t approach nestlings that are around one week old at all, because they jump out of the nest easily and as flightless, are easy prey to others. There needs to be a good view to the environment from the nest.
